Back in Mike's living room, the couch is still at an angle, and we're throwing together our fourth episode. It's a little bit longer, but we cover a ton of topics.
- Erdinger Weissbrau: Oktoberfest Weizen - Erdinger's seasonal Octoberfest. The difference is that it is a wheat beer.
- Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel without a Pulse - Tired of being attacked by zombies? Now you can be the zombie in this video game for Windows and Mac, available October 17th.
- Kingdom of Loathing - An Adventurer is You!
- New Car Smell is bad for You - Great, so now the air outside the car is actually better for you than the air inside the car.
- Toyota may own GM one day? - Although hybrids are currently less than one percent of total auto sales, two investment gurus believe that sales of gas-electric vehicles will enable Toyota to pass GM and become the world's biggest vehicle manufacturer.
- Peter Jackson to produce Halo movie - Peter Jackson and Weta have signed on to make the upcoming Halo movie. Will this be a video game movie that doesn't suck, or is this a quick buck for Jackson?
- Traffic Hackers Hit Red Light - If you've ever been stuck in traffic longing for a magic box that could turn all your red lights to green, beware: Acting on that fantasy became a federal crime this week.
- X-Men 3's growing potential to suck - Rumors have Brett Ratner tinkering with the script, and he's invented a new mutant — a mutant HOOKER. Her superpower? Seducing men, of course. This ain't good.
- Apple special media event - Apple is planning a special media event on October 12, which may see the introduction of the video enabled iPod.
Video iPod: What's the point? or I order a dozen!
- Unlock an Starfox Ship in Zelda Game - Looks like Nintendo game developers had some fun while developing Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Turns out there is a hack to fight a Star Fox Arwing with Link.
- Python vs Gator - Burmese python which had apparently swallowed an American alligator. I say apparently because the tail and hind limbs of the dead alligator were protruding from a hole in the mid-body of the dead python.
- Polk Audio releases TCP/IP Speakers - The first speakers for in-wall installation that use IP cabling for digital transmission of tjhe audio signal directly to the speaker.
- Eriq's band of the week: Goldfrapp - This week Eriq recommends British Tech-Pop rockers Goldfrapp. Front woman Alison Goldfrapp's voice is as enticing as PJ Harvey, and she looks as dangerous as Kylie Minogue. Her haunting vocals are appropriately seductive on both their slow and upbeat tracks. ep. 004 end credits: "Twist" from the album Black Cherry.
