For our seventh outing, Mike takes the camera into NYPD Blue mode during his and Jessica's Halloween party. We ditch the laptops and reach for some extra beers. Your usual co-hosts, along with a few special guests ad-lib a rather unexpected and unorthodox show.
- Google profits and stock soar - Google beat third quarter investor expectations and their stock rose 11% ($36.18 to $339.38). The company reported a more than seven-fold increase in net income from a year ago. Their market value is now nearly $95 billion.
- Lakefront Pumpkin Lager (On Tap) - Yeah, it's a repeat, but it's on tap, and with a quarterbarell, I wasn't buying more. Like the bottle (obviously) but so much better!
- NASA's new launch vehicle - NASA has announced the new launch vehicles to replace the Space Shuttle and they say it can be ready within 5 years! One vehicle is for crew and one is for cargo. They are reverting to the capsule idea that they started with.
- Daylight Savings Time - Mike hates daylight savings time!!! Totally!!
- Eriq's band of the week: Scissor Sisters - This week, on the fly, in the middle of Eriq's semi-drunken ramble, he blurted out Scissor Sisters as his band recommendation. They are a brilliantly diverse New York tech/rock band, with lots of synthy sounds and bad-ass beats. ep. 007 end credits: "Get it get it" from their self-titled debut album. Check them out.
